Kitt Peak Shadow at Sunset
This image nicely shows the triangular shadow (on the right side of the image) of the Kitt Peak mountain just before sunset. An interesting optical effect causes the shadow to appear like a triangle even though the summit of Kitt Peak is flat. The KPNO 4-meter telescope is the largest telescope on the left side of the image.
